Seven Points Picnic with Grandma & Grandpa

Image
Raystown is always enjoyable because of pretty scenery and plenty for the kids to do-- a playground and a swimming area-- all close to a nice picnic spot. Brady loved the water. Natalee refused to go in the bathroom and change into her swimsuit.  Those dreaded automatic flushing toilets!!!  She ended up with a wet skort... Jesse and his dad fixed the fire while we were at the swimming beach.  It was so breezy they had to set a picnic table up as a wind block. The best thing about picnics.... MARSHMALLOWS! MESSY SMORES

A few weeks ago...

Meg, as usual.  She just recently turned 13 years old. The first day that it was really warm, the kids were begging to get the sprinkler out.  Which is funny since they are afraid to run under it!  By the end of it, Brady ran under the water.  Natalee pretended to due to neighbor peer influence. I love the look of pure glee.

May 2012 Rain

Image
It has really rained a lot in the past 4 days.  Sunday evening I got to witness a large tree branch that had fallen on a Corvette and a Mercedes.  Unfortunately I did not get a picture of this. Today, I took this video.  I didn't do a great job with the video camera because I was in a hurry.  I could tell more rain was coming soon!  Plus, I had a job to do.  I needed to take off the drain cover beside the driveway to let the "lake" drain into the "river".  I found out that the drain was not blocked at all-- there was just too much water.  I was in nearly up to my knees to take off  this drain cover.  The water was really rushing off of the driveway and out of the drain.  I'm glad we didn't put mulch in this flower bed yet! UPDATE: On the news last night, they said that during the hour long storm, our specific geographic area received more rain than anywhere else in the Western/Central Pennsylvania viewing area-- 1.75...

Puddles, Tree Branches, and Giggles

A three part video for your enjoyment. 1.  Brady splashing in the puddle.  Of course, he was running and really splashing before the video was taken. 2.  Natalee's new discovery-- she can swing and touch the tree branch with her feet! 3.  Amie was giggling with the kids.  At the very beginning of this segment, she had a little giggle, but then the kids started to fake laugh so loudly that they actually started to scare her.  Her little lip came out!  Of course she was giggling a lot before the video was taken :)   These videos were taken with the new mini video camera I got for Mother's Day :)  I love that I can more easily share the videos of my little blessings now!  I am blessed, indeed.

Bubba

(Natalee says to Brady)  "Don't call me Bubba.  Bubba's are boys, not girls!"
