A Week in the Life of Us - fall edition

Image
Here is what our week looked like.  It is like this nearly every week of the fall. MONDAY: Trip #1 to Central High School (Martinsburg).  Natalee's varsity team didn't play well and lost 5-2. Natalee is #25 TUESDAY: We made trip #2 to Central High School (Martinsburg) to see Amie's junior high team.  The Bearcats won 3-2. Amie wears #12 WEDNESDAY: First, Brady had a cross country meet at Hollidaysburg.  He finished in 5th place at Hollidaysburg with a time of 17:50.  It wasn't his best race, but he is improving steadily as the season progresses. I'll share the picture that doesn't have Brady running around a porti-potty. Then, on to Natalee's varsity soccer game at Tyrone.   The Bearcats won 3-1 Meanwhile, I was stuck at school for open house :( THURSDAY: We drove to Tyrone for the second time to see Amie's junior high team take on Tyrone.  They beat Tyrone 6-1. Amie is the closest white shirt, with the wild hair. FRIDAY: We got to stay in town for the...

Girls Soccer

A did a really poor job taking pictures at soccer games this year.  These are the few that I got. Amie, at the beginning of the season. Natalee's high school team dressed up like Clue characters for the homecoming parade.  Natalee was Princess Peach. Frosty Soccer Game

Image
Amie had a really frosty soccer tournament today.  These were the last games of the season for her.  She was blessed to have a really positive coach.  These coaches had the team working really well together and passing by the end of the season. The kids all enjoyed being together.  I'm thankful for a positive experience. It almost looked like snow out there! Then the sun came out!

March Catch Up

Image
Brady made some neat modular origami After a snow delay, our girls junior high basketball team finally had our basketball banquet We were involved in a lot of tournaments this month.  First, Natalee competed with her basketball team at the March Madness Tournament in Lewisburg.  Of course, the day of the tournament, it had to snow and cause some bad road conditions!  With the blowing afterward, I was glad we were staying there for the night. The team in Lewisburg Brady had the day off school the day before his birthday.  He decided he wanted to try to replicate the cake Cousin J had in Colorado last summer (the Agnes Cake).  I warned him that it would be a lot of steps and it would involve cooking icing, making meringue, and cooking the ganache.  He was not deterred! This is an intricate process.   Ta da! Happy 13th birthday to Brady.  For some reason, nearly all of the birthday cards Brady received involved flatulence.  I have not idea why :...

Natalee's Soccer

Image
Once again, Natalee is playing soccer for the junior high team. Here she is kicking a penalty kick: That tied the game 2-2, but they did end up losing 3-2 in a hard fought game.

Fall Soccer (concussion)

Image
I do apologize that I have not updated this blog for quite a while.  I got distracted by a soccer injury, which I will share about later in this post. When, we came home from church, Natalee wanted her pictures taken by the flowery tree out front.  Natalee actually WANTED her picture taken, so I definitely obliged!  (Of course little sister always likes pictures still, so she got involved as well.) Natalee still did not approve of these pictures, but I love them! Then, later in the day we went to her soccer game. It was a beautiful day for being outside. They have a silly rule that masks must be worn during play. They had a really good ball girl :) It was really nice for her mother because she was not bored during the game! When Natalee approached us after the game, she appeared dazed and confused.  I noticed that she had been sitting out the last fifteen minutes of the game or so. She told us something about the coaches thinking that the mask overheated her....

Natalee Soccer

Image
Natalee has been enjoying playing on the junior high girls soccer team.  Thankfully the PIAA went against the governor's "firm recommendation" to cancel fall sports.  The governor really put on the pressure. The season was delayed by two weeks while trying to decide what to do.  It's a really enjoyable group of girls to be around.  A grandmother from the soccer team takes a lot of pictures and very nicely shares them with us. Since we are involved with an small outdoor team, we have been able to watch all of her games that we could go to.  We even attended a couple of away games.    A friend covers games in Tyrone for the newspaper.  He took these pictures for us. Natalee has been playing midfielder.
