Stuck Inside During Hurricane Sandy

Image
Today, we were still seeing a lot of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Sandy.  That meant we were stuck inside the house again.   To make things a bit exciting, I brought up a large piece of paper and drew roads on it.  I put the paper on the floor and then Brady and Natalee helped me draw other things on our map like gas stations, a store, a park, and more. Both kids were very imaginative during their play on our large road map. It surprised me that Brady drew and then played with it for nearly 2 hours!  He brought out his cars and tractors. Can you guess why we had to move the road map to the table? Uh-huh! She was still trying to get that crinkly paper to hear it, rip it, and eat it.  And, the markers and crayons were pretty tasty to chew on, too!  Luckily the lid stayed on :) We missed most of Sandy's wrath here.  It rained a lot, but it was a nice steady rain that easily drained off.  We never had our big "river" form in our ...

All Three Together

Image
I've been trying to get a good picture of all three kids together, and I think I finally took a decent one!  On our way to Belleville on Sunday, we stopped at Greenwood Furnace for a photo opportunity.  Of course, this is where I took the great picture.  Unfortunately, it is with the camera that I don't like as much because I was not planning to stop here (1@$#!:*) Grrr. I think this is the winner! This is okay, too!  After taking these pictures, I decided that I still wanted a decent picture of all three kids with Meg. All three kids plus Meg So cute! Beautiful leaves

Natalee's 5 Year Old Pictures (just a little late :)

I finally took Natalee's pictures a few days ago.  It wasn't the best day to take pictures because of the sun, but we tried.  Maybe we'll try again someday soon, but here's what we got!  You can take your vote. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Too bad Amie was sleeping. Brady wanted in on the action. 7 8

Camp

Image
Sunday I went up to camp to practice shooting a hand gun.  Jesse was supposed to come down and get me on the 4 wheeler so that I did not have to walk up.... but he didn't get my text, so I walked!  It wasn't too far and it was a really pretty walk.  So, it wasn't that bad of a deal.  I just stopped and took a few pictures along the way. The leaves are beautiful right now. Approaching the new, nearly completed camp.  Doesn't it look great!?!  I think so.  I should have taken a picture of the inside. The awesome front porch view. By the way, I think I may have missed my calling in life. I don't have a bad shot :)  Hopefully, I don't ever need to use it, though!

The Latest Happenings in Video

Image
Amie really started giggling when I launched the bear, so Natalee gladly took over while I got the video camera: Natalee (finally) kind of trusted herself to ride a bike without training wheels.  She would not ride her own bike and she would only ride in grass, but hey, that's progress.  We took off her training wheels mid-summer because she bugged us too.  But, then she refused to try after one learning session.  Then, I refused to put the training wheels back on :)  Here, she rode the neighbors bike in the grass (FINALLY): N
