"Deer" Lonely Ladies Day

Image
We spent "Deer" Lonely Ladies Day decorating our trees for Christmas.  The kids have wanted to do this for months !  While they were away from home Saturday afternoon, I dug the trees out from under the steps.  Note:  When I put my trees away, I leave the lights on.  Then, we put all of the kid-friendly ornaments into one box.  Another box contains the kid's nativity set.  So, when I need to pull out the Christmas decorations, I simply pull out the trees and the boxes. Easy. Natalee is in charge of this tree.  Note: this is how we eliminate the fight over who turns on the Christmas lights! Brady's tree Meg was excited about the tree encroaching on her space.  All of these trees were our wedding decorations-- 10 whole years ago.  Wow. Amie found a bell! Next, I'd like to bring up some of our wedding garland.  The lights and decorations are already on those, too.  I hang those on the beams downstairs so that ...

Shooting Turkeys

Image
We had a nice Thanksgiving day of eating with a few extended family members.  We enjoyed the nice weather by taking all of the dogs for a walk around the neighborhood.   Following the meal, we used the Nerf gun to "shoot" the hand print turkeys we made earlier in the week.  It was a lot of fun! Meg was right in the middle of the action The kids wore their turkey hats that we made last week. They both had a good shot. Here, Brady knocked down two turkeys with one shot!  He was pleased. Of course, I had to get in on the fun of shooting turkeys, too! Happy Thanksgiving !  And n o, I am not heading out to Walm art this evening.

Thousand Steps

Today's temperature reached 60 degrees!  Wow, that felt really hot comparatively to what we had felt last week.  It was a perfect day for a hike.  So, after church, we did just that.  Brady had mentioned earlier in the week that he'd like to go to the Thousand Steps again.  I thought that sounded like a good idea. I *tried* to get a good family picture for our Christmas card, but failed miserably.  First, Brady wasn't looking.  Second, his face was hidden behind the rock.  And, you can't see Amie. Look at the camera!!! There's Amie!  We stopped for a gummy treat snack.  We make our hikes fun by offering treats that they don't normally get. Amie had a nice ride up on her dad's back.  Yes, I took a lot of pictures.  And, yes, I'm not in many pictures because I seem to be the picture taker all of the time. Approaching the old dingy maintenance building. Amie fell asleep. We had a picnic...

Lower Rail Trail

Image
To celebrate the weather getting up to 50 degrees, we went for a ride on the Lower Trail on Friday.  This is the first time that Natalee has gone on a trip like this and rode her own bike without training wheels.  This is also the first time that Brady rode on the bike that attaches to Jesse's bike.  He really liked the little flag in his bike.  Amie rode for the first time in the trailer behind my bike, too.  It was a lot of fun and it was beautiful!
