The first day of school...

Image
I very much do not like the first day of school. And the pictures that Mom makes us get are the WORST! This year, I am in 9th grade, Brady in 8th, and Amie in 5th.  I also think I'm the only one who even tried to look nice. Oh well.

Back to School -- COVID-19 Style

Image
Back to school 2020 is a lot different. In July we were under the impression that we were going back to school hybrid, part time.  That meant two days at school, one Zoom day, and 2 work from home days.  Then, at the end of July, the school board voted that no, we were going back 5 days a week.  Two weeks later, we were back to the hybrid schedule because the governor suddenly released new "strong recommendations".  I really don't care, it would just be nice to be consistent and have a plan! This year, sadly, we did not have Skippy to photo bomb our back to school photos. It made us think of him and miss him all over again. Everyone has their masks ready. UPDATED: the Honn Tech Support gets really tired running back and forth between 3 different locations on the Zoom class days.  I vote for a tech support pay raise and more vacation days :)

First Day of School 2016

Image
Today was already the first day of school.  I'm not sure where summer went!  It few by quickly.  But, Brady has been eager to go back to school for the past two months.  Any time anyone asked him if he was ready for school to start, he would excitedly say, "Yes!  I can't wait for school.  I love school!"  Three smiling faces.  In case you haven't heard yet, this young lady is homeschooling this year.  We are giving it a good try!  She is also hoping to start piano lessons this year.  This youngest lady starts preschool next week.  She will attend one morning per week.  Skippy had to get in on the action, too. Here's to a fun 2016-17 school year!

The First Day of School

Image
Today was the first day of school. *insert sigh* Natalee started 2nd grade and Brady started 1st grade.  And, a piece of my heart went to school with them today.  My stomach was in knots a lot of the day.  Not worry.  I was just missing them terribly.  I thought that this year would be better since I didn't send anyone off to Kindergarten.  Not so much! Second grade started off well.  She said her teacher was nice. I think 1st grade went well.  He has Natalee's teacher from last year and he has several friends in his class. Amie and I were dreading them going to school.  She was really missing them. Amie took this picture. This picture is from a few weeks ago.  Amie is missing all of the creativity and fun play they provided her all day long.

Natalee's New Year Paper

I thought relatives would enjoy reading Natalee's New Year thoughts.

Pumpkin Rolling

This was one of the many times that I feel fortunate to live near family that are willing to help me. Dad stayed at the house with Brady and Amie while I went to Natalee's school to help with Fall Fun Day. I was placed with some of my friends at the Pumpkin Rolling station, which was a relay. I felt like the PE teacher in me had to come out for a few hours! I felt a bit rusty at first, but it was fun (and COLD!). I had some hot tea when I got home :)
