Mt Davis
While the kids were at my parents house for the night/day, Jesse and I went on an adventure. We decided on going to Somerset County and hiking Mt Davis- the tallest mountain in Pennsylvania at a whopping 3,213 feet. Here it is, the tallest point in Pennsylvania: Notice all of the laurel in the background. There was laurel EVERYWHERE. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since it is part of the Laurel Highlands! I would love to see them all in bloom. We made it to the top! I must say that even though this was a high elevation for Pennsylvania, this was one of the easiest hikes I've ever done! And, we even made our hike longer that it had to be. Mt. Davis is actually one point on Negro Mountain. Negro Mountain is a 30 mile long ridge line.
