Contract Free At Last

Image
Thursday evening, Mom, Natalee and I went over to Kenny, Sarah, & Kayli's house to visit with them, Mike, and Sarah's mom, Kim. Kayli was showing Natalee how to dance on her dance pad. When she moves on it, it makes noises. As of Thursday, I am released from my contract (finally). It is rather complicated, but they finally decided they could go with one substitute for the final 7 Thursdays of the school year. Thursday, I spent the day teaching and showing her what I've been doing and what could be done for the remainder of the year. I got notes, giant group hugs, and love from all of the Kindergarten students. It was so sad to leave them! Friday was spent getting all of the many things done that I needed to do before leaving the state. Now, we just need our house to sell! Then, Saturday, we flew back to PA to stay (hopefully). Natalee was once again a great sport in the airplane despite the fact that she was not able to take a good nap and we could not move aroun...

Purdy Elementary Baby Shower

Image
After school today, the Purdy Staff held a Baby Shower for me. We enjoyed some delicious carrot cake, and then I got to open some gifts. The staff was so generous!! I thank them very much for their gifts. I received a Space Saver High Chair, Playard (it converts into a bassinet, changing table, and play area), Boppy pillow, a homemade blanket, a crib sheet, some clothing items, some dining items, and the book The Crunching, Munching Caterpillar.

I really hated the thought of buying another vehicle and selling the truck because I like it so much. But, without a car seat fitting, the vehicle would be virtually useless to us! Thank goodness that search is over because I was really tired of driving around looking! We ended up buying almost the same thing that we had. Here is the 2001 S-10 that we bought back in the summer of 2003 -- two weeks before I won the truck in the Belleville Fireman's Festival raffle. (It is for sale now if anyone wants a great truck that only has 50K miles on it!) And, we bought this 2001 Blazer yesterday evening. (The wheels are definitely going to be changed!! -- they are huge) Hopefully we don't regret not having a truck bed. It looks kind of funny in the driveway to see two vehicles that are virtually the same! But, since they are so similar, that means tha...

Purdy Panther Jungle

Image
We had a lot of fun in PE at Purdy today. We had a jungle obstacle course (since that is where panthers live and Purdy's mascot is the panther). I played Lion King music for them, too! So, here are some pictures of kids going through some of the obstacles.
