Lower Trail

Here’s a video from today’s ride on the Lower Trail. We rode the entire 17.5 mile (or so) trail. We started in Alexandria (Alfarata) and rode to Canoe Creek State Park. Watch and see how many times Amie mentions her motivation— ice cream!

We met Jesse after work for an Ascension Day picnic at Canoe Creek State Park.  It wasn't exactly the traditional Amish all afternoon picnic, but it was still a nice celebration.  (We did pass some Amish on their way home along US22 on our way there.) Jesse had to work a little late.  The children and I took a little hike while we waited for him to arrive.  We walked across the spillway to the area before reaching the dam.  There is a short loop trail. There tends to be a plethora of wildflowers in that area, and there were this time.  Here are just a few of what we saw.  I cannot remember the names.  I looked them up. As we were going back across the spillway, Amie wanted her picture taken.  Just as I was taking it, a duck flew away!  We cooked hotdogs and smores. Our pretty picnic spot.  The guys went disc golfing.  The girls decided to explore with me.  I wanted to find the limestone...
