The View 25K

Image
"We did a thing."  What did we do?  Brady, Jesse, and I ran a 25K race at Hyner View State Park/Sproul State Forest.  Brady really wanted to enter a 25K, so Jesse and I decided to do it with him. And, we definitely did not pick an easy 25K race.  In fact, we picked one of the hardest ones with one of the most elevation gains per mile. This race included over 3000 feet of elevation gain in the 15 miles.  Twice we went to the top of the ridge and nearly returned to the Susquehanna River. This ended up being an awesome picture.  We were really close to Hyner View at this point. We were introduced to this race because of the children running in the Little Loggers Race two times.  The View 25K is organized by the same group and it begins at the same location. The weekend of one of the races, we camped at Hyner Run State Park.  While there, we went to Hyner View State Park .  That time, we were hoping to see hang gliders take off on the ram...

Fall Colors

Image
This year, the fall colors were amazing.  They were brilliant colors this year.  I was hoping to take pictures of everyone in the colors, but that didn't happen. Two weeks ago, after we went on a trail run at Greenwood Furnace State Park, I walked around and took some pictures.   Greenwood is beautiful any day.  But, with these colors blazing, it was quite a treat to walk around.

Frosty Soccer Game

Image
Amie had a really frosty soccer tournament today.  These were the last games of the season for her.  She was blessed to have a really positive coach.  These coaches had the team working really well together and passing by the end of the season. The kids all enjoyed being together.  I'm thankful for a positive experience. It almost looked like snow out there! Then the sun came out!

October

Brady coordinated with other trumpet players to dress up as Wizard of Oz characters.  Brady was the tin man in two Halloween parades. Brady went backpacking with his Boy Scout Troop. I found Waldo! Brady finally finished my end table.  It looks fantastic!  This was part of his boy scout merit badge work. We all helped make some applesauce. My parents have the best view of sunsets.  They are in the process of moving, and this view will be missed. Brady went biking with friends. Amie went to Outdoor School. Natalee created a float with her soccer team for the homecoming parade.

Golf Tournament

Image
Last Saturday, the family held a golf tournament in honor of my late Uncle Korie. Some of my family members worked really hard to pull off this fundraiser event.  It was really fun to work along side my friends, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Brady and Dad were in charge of the bag drop. The guests of honor The check in table I was positioned at hole #10, which was the "Beat the Nephew" hole.  It was a gamble, but the goal was to beat my cousin, Deron, and hit the ball closer to the hole than he did. Everyone got in on some of the fun. Some of my cousins watching My brother and his friends played. It was great to spend the day with Deron. Dad and Brady had to measure a few times to see who was closer.  One guy beat Deron by getting a hole in one! I recruited Natalee (and her hurt hand) to help me take pictures of each group of golfers.  Brandy took the money for the hole.   Jesse and Amie came to the tournament later in the day.  Amie had a soccer game and her...
