Day Trip to Erie

 This week, Amie is at Camp Calvary.  Natalee and Brady were both in agreement that they wanted their day trip to be to a beach.  Natalee loves exploring a beach area. We are a little too far from the Atlantic Ocean to do a day trip.  So, we all decided to explore Lake Erie.  I had never been there either.   This was the second Great Lake that we visited in the past month! First, we decided to make a little detour to Corry, PA.  It did add a little to our trip, but it was fun and quirky.  In Corry, there is a diner called Gigi's.  Shortly before we moved here to Pennsylvania, there was a diner at the corner of 4th Street and Hwy 22 called Grubbs Diner.  The Grubbs sold the property to Rite Aid, but the diner was given to a couple in Corry.  They moved it from Huntingdon to Corry.  Of course, I'm the only one that remembers it.  I think I ate there in high school. Lake Tobias

 This year, Amie did not go to Camp Calvary the same week as Natalee and Brady.  She goes later.  So, I planned a special day for her at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park with aunts and cousins. It was an extremely hot, humid day.  (When we left the park, it was 98 degrees.)  Since it was so hot, we went on the safari ride, first.  Most of this was either in the shade or the bus was moving and creating a breeze.  So, it wasn't too bad. First, we saw some baby rheas that had just hatched from their eggs. Then, we walked around to see the bears, lions, tigers, zebras, monkeys, and cappybaras. After the safari ride, I had made Amie come and get a drink at our pavilion.  She was upset at me for making her go.  What I did not realize was that she had not drank much all day. Unfortunately, when we entered the pettting zoo, she showed major signs of heat exhaustion, which was caused by dehydration.  I realized what was going on, but it scared Amie a lo...
